Pastor Carol Markham
Carol Markham was born on August 10, 1936 in Acadia, VA and his family moved to Fredericksburg, VA shortly after. He attended Fredericksburg public schools and graduated from the old James Monroe High School in 1954. He was employed by the Tolly and Creal Bakery and later by L. Grief and Company, a clothing manufacturer. On April 7, 1956, he married Margaret Howard and had four children all of whom are currently married and have children of their own.

At the age of 30, Carol sensed the convicting call of God on his life and he received Christ as his Savior. He was baptized into the fellowship of Falmouth Baptist Church and served as a Sunday School teacher and later as a deacon. He was licensed as a lay preacher and served a small mission for about a year.

In 1970, Carol was enrolled in the Fredericksburg Bible Institute and received their basic and advacnced certificates in Christian education. Later, he earned their Associate of Bible Diploma. He also earned a Certificate of Pastoral Training from the Southern Baptist Seminaries Extension Department.

He received a call from the Bethlehem Baptist Church in the Hermon Association and began serving as a bi-vocational pastor in October 1972. His ordination took place on January 21, 1973, as a request by this church. Bethlehem later called him to minister full time and he served there for 13 years.

Further educational achievements earned while attending the Fredericksburg Bible Institute were: Associate of Theology, Bachelor of Theology, Master of Theology, and Doctor of Theology.

Thereafter, Carol served Montague Baptist Church for about two years and later served Community Baptist Church for 12 years. Both of these were bi-vocational ministries as he was also employed by Quarles Energy Services.

Since August 2007, he has been serving as Outreach Pastor for Hebron Baptist Church.

Carol Markham would like to thank the men who served as his mentors: Reverend Lewis Warren Turner, Sr., with the Lord; Doctor George Albert Brown, Jr., with the Lord; Reverend Walter H. Lewis, with the Lord; Pastor Bob Ellinger of Hebron Baptist Church.
